" Christ says, 'Give me all... I want you.  I have not come to torment your natural self, but to kill it... I will give you a new self instead.  In fact, I will give you Myself.'"

~ C.S Lewis

"The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul.  The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple.  The precepts of the Lord are right, giving joy to the heart.
The commands of the Lord are radiant, giving light to the eyes.  The fear of the Lord is pure, enduring forever.  The ordinances of the Lord are sure and altogether righteous.
They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the comb.  By them is your servant warned; in keeping them there is great reward."

~ Psalm 19:7-11

"Give me the love that leads the way, the faith that nothing can dismay, the hope no disappointments tire, the passion that will burn like fire; let me not sink to be a clod: make me Thy fuel, Flame of God."

                                                                                    ~ Amy Carmichael

"Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of Him to the other side, while He dismissed the crowd.  After He had dismissed them, He went up on a mountainside by Himself to pray.  When evening came, He was there alone, but the boat was already a considerable distance from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it.
During the fourth watch if the night Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake.  When the disciples saw Him walking on the lake, they were terrified.  'It's a ghost,' they said, and cried out in fear.
But Jesus immediately said to them: 'Take courage!  It is I.  Don't be afraid.'
'Lord, if it is You,' Peter replied, 'tell me to come to You on the water.'
'Come,' He said.
Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus.  But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, 'Lord, save me!'
Immediately Jesus reached out His hand and caught him.  'You of little faith,' He said, 'why did you doubt?'
And then they climbed into the boat, the wind died down.  Then those who were in the boat worshipped Him, saying, 'Truly You are the Son of God.'"
